This template is used to insert an infobox onto the knight pages. It should be noted that the Rank, Battalion, and First Event entries have case sensitive validation, and will throw an error if the entry doesn't match the options. Ranks only include Knight, Corporal, Sergeant, Captain, and Commander. Any other titles are offices, not ranks. Eg. The Archmage is a member of the Upper Council, but this is unrelated to their Rank.

Their bleary eyes squint towards the horizon, and they are blinded by a searing light, as if the sun itself had become angered and decided to rise again full of fury. As their eyes adjust, they are met with a vision from their nightmares: a host of knights descending upon them - their armour gleaming bright in this golden hour. As these knights thunder forward the enemy feels first the ground tremble, and then themselves, as they cannot help but be overwhelmed by fear. One glance at the levelled halberds and raised banners of the fearsome Kea, and only one name comes to their shakey lips. For they can be none other than the most venerated cavalry battalion in all the lands - known to be the reason their adversaries do not live to see the next dawn - ANZAC.

Lead by [[MontgomeryUSA]], the fearsome ANZACS are the gold that rises before the dawn, and the gilded light leading the way as the sun sets. Those who wish to join must be fierce, brave and cunning, as we take our enemies by surprise!

In April of 2023, Grandmaster [[LadyVulcan]] raised the first new [[Battalions|Battalion]] in many years. While the Warbirds were a new Battalion their group was almost as old as the April Knights. The year after [[The Button]], the Reddit Event was [[Robin]] in 2016. Chat rooms were formed by occupants choosing to merge with other rooms of comparable size, doubling each time. Eventually two rooms of 2^16 people merged together, forming the only Tier 17 room, and broke all of Reddiit. That group became known as the ccKufi Warbirds. Over the years they were worthy allies as they also participated in the Reddit April events.

When the Warbirds were raised to a Battalion, [[teamvista]] was selected as [[Commander]].

The Battalion was created before the separation of [[Divisions]] and [[Battalions]]. At this time, most battalions were created based on either time zone or specific tasks. As the events become shorter, the Knights reaction time needed to sharpen and become more focused. Knowing the highest activity is when the sun is high over the Americas, a battalion was born with the longest watch and the greatest task: be prepared for anything and any ask.

[[Speedy36]] was unable to be active during the early months of 2023. With April approaching, the Crimson Crusaders were in need of an active commander. On February 6th Speedy36 was honorably retired from her command. Due to the unavailability of other candidates, the [[Grandmaster]] [[LadyVulcan]] nominated herself for commander. The [[Upper Council]] confirmed the appointment on the 7th.

Euroguard is the battalion that typically includes our Knights from the European time zones, although some hail from as far as central Asia, and location is not a requirement for membership.

====About the Knights of the Church====
One of the original battalions, this battalion formed from the Church of the Button before they joined the April Knights, led by their [[Commander]], the Pope of the Button, [[Ghostise]].

Due to its long history, the Knights of the Church have a different internal structure than other battalions. Members of this battalion are known as templars and are divided into squads, each led by a [[Sergeant]].

Since the end of the Button, Templars have continued our mission to proselytize the Church, support other battalions in their objectives, keep records and histories, and work with the Inquisition to keep the Order safe. They have historically had a close working relationship with the [[Knights of the Ashen Blade]].

From the steadfast Templar order to the secretive Inquisition, the Knights of the Church focus on purging the unworthy in holy fire! We either support operations through our templars or handle the espionage affairs with the Inquisition. After the the excitement of a campaign has peaked, many templars make sure to document the details for posterity and analysis, helping the masses of the lost find the true meaning of the nostalgia through the church. Others may help organize activities to keep the faith alive throughout the year, so that the Knights have the greatest numbers going into each new event!

The [[Inquisition]] was born from the Knights of the Church, with quite a few Inquisitors among their ranks. Knights of the Church was the only battalion that had their officer core survive intact through the [[dark ages]], a time of atrophy after [[The Button]] Reddit event, 2015 to 2018.

== The Workshop ==

The Workshop is the art, histories, and documentation [[division]] of the April Knights. Its responsibilities include: fostering and creating April Knight (AK) related art, memes, poetry, music, etc., preserving and recording AK history and lore, and maintaining document storage to preserve it for future knights.

It is headed by the [[First Herald]], who has a seat on the [[Upper Council]] and reports directly to the Grandmaster.

While any knight, or guest for that matter, is welcomed and encouraged to make art and memes, document history, or write lore; joining the Heralds gives one a semi-private place to find fellow knights to collaborate with or share unfinished work and receive advice.

Currently the Workshop is welcoming any knight to become a Herald by simply clicking the button in #herald-sign-up without any formal application process.

From the steadfast Templar order to the secretive Inquisition, the Knights of the Church (KotC) focus on purging the unworthy in holy fire! We either support operations through our templars or handle the espionage affairs with the Inquisition. After the the excitement of a campaign has peaked, many templars make sure to document the details for posterity and analysis, helping the masses of the lost find the true meaning of the nostalgia through the church. Others may help organize activities to keep the faith alive throughout the year, so that the Knights have the greatest numbers going into each new event!

The inquisition was born from the KotC, with quite a view inquisitors and grand inquisitors among their ranks. KotC was the only battalion that survived intact through the dark ages, a time of atrophy after [[The Button]] Reddit event, 2015 to 2018.
