One of the original battalions, this battalion formed from the Church of the Button before they joined the April Knights, led by their [[Commander]], the Pope of the Button, [[Ghostise]].

Due to its long history, the Knights of the Church have a different internal structure than other battalions. Members of this battalion are known as templars and are divided into squads, each led by a [[Sergeant]].

Since the end of the Button, Templars have continued our mission to proselytize the Church, support other battalions in their objectives, keep records and histories, and work with the Inquisition to keep the Order safe. They have historically had a close working relationship with the [[Knights of the Ashen Blade]].

From the steadfast Templar order to the secretive Inquisition, the Knights of the Church focus on purging the unworthy in holy fire! We either support operations through our templars or handle the espionage affairs with the Inquisition. After the the excitement of a campaign has peaked, many templars make sure to document the details for posterity and analysis, helping the masses of the lost find the true meaning of the nostalgia through the church. Others may help organize activities to keep the faith alive throughout the year, so that the Knights have the greatest numbers going into each new event!

The [[Inquisition]] was born from the Knights of the Church, with quite a few Inquisitors among their ranks. Knights of the Church was the only battalion that had their officer core survive intact through the [[History|dark ages]], a time of atrophy after [[The Button]] Reddit event, 2015 to 2018.

Deoplo (reddit username: Deoplo357) first found out about the [[April Knights]] during [[r/Place]] in 2017, however he did not join the Knights until [[r/Sequence]] in 2019. Deoplo initially joined the [[Grey Wardens]], and later in 2021 transferred to [[ANZAC]].

On May 22, 2020 Deoplo was promoted to [[First Officer]] within the Grey Wardens, making him the battalion's Lower Councilor. (The [[Commander]] of the Grey Wardens at the time, [[YeWhoTookAPUSH]], was an Upper Councilor.)

With [[Gryph667]] becoming [[Grandmaster]] in 2021, Deoplo was appointed the [[Upper Council]] position of [[Advisor]], and also as [[Scribe]].

The Workshop is the art, histories, and documentation [[division]] of the April Knights. Its responsibilities include: fostering and creating April Knight (AK) related art, memes, poetry, music, etc., preserving and recording AK history and lore, and maintaining document storage to preserve it for future knights.
