Battalions are the oldest groups within the April Knights. Battalions of various interests and cultures formed during the Button in 2015, and many of those are still around today. A few others developed after that, through alliances or merges.

Every battalion is led by a Commander and if said commander is indisposed, or acurrent member of the Upper Council, then they are represented on the Lower Council by a First Officer, usually a Sergeant or Captain.
