Battalion Description
About the Knights of the Church
One of the original battalions, this battalion formed from the Church of the Button before they joined the April Knights, led by their Commander, the Pope of the Button, Ghostise.
Due to its long history, the Knights of the Church have a different internal structure than other battalions. Members of this battalion are known as templars and are divided into squads, each led by a Sergeant.
Since the end of the Button, Templars have continued our mission to proselytize the Church, support other battalions in their objectives, keep records and histories, and work with the Inquisition to keep the Order safe. They have historically had a close working relationship with the Knights of the Ashen Blade.
From the steadfast Templar order to the secretive Inquisition, the Knights of the Church focus on purging the unworthy in holy fire! We either support operations through our templars or handle the espionage affairs with the Inquisition. After the the excitement of a campaign has peaked, many templars make sure to document the details for posterity and analysis, helping the masses of the lost find the true meaning of the nostalgia through the church. Others may help organize activities to keep the faith alive throughout the year, so that the Knights have the greatest numbers going into each new event!
The Inquisition was born from the Knights of the Church, with quite a few Inquisitors among their ranks. Knights of the Church was the only battalion that had their officer core survive intact through the dark ages, a time of atrophy after The Button Reddit event, 2015 to 2018.

Trivia
- Our moto "button vault!" translates to "The Button wills it!" Some other translations of "vult" include "desires it, needs it, or demands it". This speaks to the calling within us to fulfill the grand plan of the knights and events with devotion, and to collect those who long to continue finding meaning from these past events.
