Spectrum War

The Spectrum War was a global conflict across the lands of the Button. The various Shade powers, led chiefly by No Coloreds, whose influence had grown massively among the Followers of the Shade, invaded several subreddits and took them over.

The war started on May 8th 2015 with the 59s Incident that saw the invasion of the 59s subreddit by Shade forces led by Rhamni the Hateful. They herded the population under occupation into concentration camps and wrote new laws defining the purple pressers as second class citizens.

In reaction to the incident the Church of the Button and the Violet Hand signed a ceasefire agreement the following day on May 9th as the 2nd Crusade was happening concurrently. By May 10th, after failed negotiations, the Violet Hand dissolved their alliance with No Coloreds.

In the wake of the Minuteman Civil War, the 2nd Crusade, and now the Spectrum War, the United Colors was formed from the political scene of Team 60s.

The Spectrum War ended curiously on May 18th, with a philosophy debate between TheSimpleArtist, the leader of 59s who invited No Coloreds in, and a user named Loch_Ness__Monster, a 59s presser who was a member of the No Coloreds occupation. The details of the debate are unknown but Loch_Ness__Monster was able to convince TheSimpleArtist to vanquish the occupation and end the war.
