Grandmaster Election

The Grandmaster Election is held every year to elect the Grandmaster. Since the passing of the Election Movement Act in 2024, the election is held in late January. Before this it was held after the end of the years April Event.

Every oath sworn knight may vote in the election.

Methods

Before the election begins, the Grandmaster will appoint a Election Administrator. They are responsible for administrating the election

Registration

Registration is opened no later than 24 hours after the April Event ends. Registration remains open until the end of the voting period.

Registration is typically done via a reddit thread. A knight may register to vote by commenting in the thread.

Nominations

Nominations open between January 7th and 15th. Nominations are typically done via a reddit thread. Nominations remain open until voting opens.

Any oath sworn knight may make a nomination. Nominees must be the rank captain or higher.

After a nomination is made, it must be seconded by one other knight. After the nomination is seconded, the nominee may accept the nomination.

Voting

Voting opens 7 days after nominations open. Voting is done by ranked choice. Voters rank the candidates in order of preference. In the first round, all first choice votes are counted. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, the candidate with the least first choice votes is eliminated. There votes than move to the second choice. This continues until a candidate receives more than 50% of the vote.
